The Chinese Basketball Association has been forced to apologise for a fight that forced play to be suspended in a game against Brazil.
China's players had been angered when the referee signalled a foul against them. Play got increasingly rough until it broke out in to open exchanges of kicks and punches. The Brazilians refused to finish the game, in Xuchang, Henan province. Both teams flew to Beijing yesterday, with at least one Chinese player wearing a neck brace.
