The worst losers in sport
Ricky Ponting's criticism of England's delaying tactics as 'pretty ordinary' was ungracious at least - his team had to take the wicket of England's most hapless batsman and no amount of figdeting with gloves on England's part could turn Monty into Geoff Boycott, so the failure lay with his bowlers, perhaps. But does Ponting deserve his place in our galleries of worst losers?

For worst winners, it's surely the 1999 US Ryder Cup team.
Where was he when Pool beat them recently, Utd the better team!!!
The guy couldn't spell class!!
Typical of all too prevalent weak football journalism, whose copy is apparently dictated by SAF himself.
SAF spends the entire season playing childish games and concocting lies to undermine his peers and then expects them to congratulate him on his teams victory ... is this a piss take ?
There's a difference between winning 1 game and winning the league. Just admit that your manager is a covetous prick.
End of....
ps - did you hear Ferguson after the CL final last night? Benitez would never behave like that.
He refuses to to speak to Sky following loses or win, he constantly digs at other managers, and recently conspired with Big Sam to twist the knife with Benitez. The lovely dance he did when his team were not awarded what he saw as a penalty in the FA cup was classic.
Sir Alex is no-doubt a great winner of cups and league alike but he is also representative of the bad spirit and bad loser mentality that is wrong in football today.
I must mention I support Norwich City, so I'm not grinding the axe for any reason other than his attitude must put him at the tip of the bad loser league - even when he's winning
Rafa said everything that needed to be said, for him to say anymore would have made him out to be a hypocrite. The two men clearly cannot stand the sight of one another, so why pretend otherwise? If you want sportsmanship in football, you journalists should play ball too, instead of twisting people's words whenever you get the chance. Lets also remember that this was a man who only a few weeks ago did a character assinastion on Rafa, so why should he show any respect to Ferguson, respect is earned not automatically given.
Well done, Liverpool for the season, next year we will get the glory.
The only fact to remember is that we enjoy not liking eachother and this in part is borne out of respect. The harder the opposition is to beat the sweeter the victory. Outside the North-West and this particular duel, there are only local derbies to really get excited about. The press build up games aginst London teams, but over the past 40 years the trophies invariably come north. Arsenal apart and a few years of Chelsea have seen this part of England enjoy unrivalled success.
Long may the rivalry exist. It brings out the best in both teams and I hope it is better and closer than this season. Respect to Rafa, he has at least shown some passion and I would not expect or want anything less from Alex.
This article is extremely silly, nothing to see here, move along.
and subsequently had his medal stripped from him by the IOC.
The point seemed to be that the interviewer wanted Benitez to write a letter to Ferguson. As if that was ever going to happen - are the other 18 managers going to be writing letters to him ? What a rubbish article.
Ben from the wind turbine for the home hub.
It is SO ironic and hypocritical to see the same media now trying to defend the obvious time wasting tactics employed by a very poor English cricket team that only secured a draw because the weather prevented play on the afternoon/evening of the fourth day. Had play continued on Saturday evening, England would have had NO chance of saving the match!
It is indeed laughable that the so called 'draw' is now being portrayed by the British media as some kind of victory. As someone has said, the British are masters of self delusion and of mediocrity. That is why their sports teams so rarely win anything of note and why even their better teams so often fail to develop a consistent winning habit.
England cricket team throwing sweets on the pitch and cheating against New Zealand last year under Collie
England cricket team under Strauss (Ponting was pretty reasonable frankly).
England football team always finds someone to blame rather than lack of ability.
Rafa
Chelsea team Lampard excepted.
Jose Mourinho
Guus Hiddink
Drogba
Bosingwa
Losers all as well.

Australians-bad losers, worse winners, no sporting grace whatsoever, only the Snooze Zealanders are worse.
rodo, check cricket newsgroups and forums on the interweb and ask cricket-lovers in Australia what they think of your team and their attitude to the spirit of the game.
Rafa - what kind of world is then when the Press offer a person an opportunity to say whether they would send congrats to another manager? He said Well done to him - thats enough.
Cantona kick - nothing to do with being a loser.
Keegan - wasnt losing when he did this rant - lost battle of psychology
Half of tHis is just a daft list of passionate people who threw into a rage for any number of reasons.
Pointless.
