Slovenia's Peter Prevc smashed the ski-jumping world record at the FIS Ski Flying World Cup in Norway on Saturday with a phenomenal leap of 250 metres (820 feet).
The previous record was 246.5 metres, which was set by Norway's Johan Remen Evensen on the same track in 2011.

A delighted Prevc, who became the first non-Scandinavian to set the world record since Austria's Andreas Goldbreger did so in 2000, said after his jump: "The speed and the position was perfect, then I just landed. Right now it's hard to describe my feelings, it will probably take a few days.
"It's always great to jump far. This win today and the world record is my biggest success so far."Reuse content
