Johnny Murtagh Derby-winning Jockey

I think Kauto Star will win as I've always thought Denman is more of a Grand National horse.

Jeremy Kyle Television presenter

Tony McCoy riding Denman adds yet more spice to the duel – the Gold Cup now has the two best horses and jockeys. Denman is a very good horse but to me Kauto Star is one of the best ever. I was lucky enough to be at Kempton on Boxing Day and he was awesome.

Matt Dawson Former England rugby player

I think Denman this year – AP McCoy loves a challenge and he's a born winner.

Frankie Dettori Former champion jockey

I think Kauto Star will win because he has such a good cruising speed and turn of foot. I really like the horse, he's such a flashy looker.

Clare Balding Racing presenter

It's Denman for me. Big, strong, relentless and brave, I think he can grind the pace up from the front and take the sting out of Kauto Star.

Phil 'The Power' Taylor Darts player

I can't wait for this race. Kauto Star is a tremendous horse but Denman has Tony McCoy now, and I think that will be the difference.

Jeremy Guscott Former England rugby player

It's the most eagerly awaited race I can remember. I can't wait to see the two of them coming up the hill, but it has to be Kauto Star.

Michael Owen Manchester United forward

It's the ultimate match: the tough, gritty AP and Denman, versus the skill and flair of Ruby and Kauto Star – although at the prices, my wallet says Denman.

Sam Torrance Golfer

I think Kauto Star will win very easily. On Boxing Day he was sheer brilliance in four-legged motion.

Jodie Kidd Model and television presenter

Kauto Star has proven this season that he is as good as ever, whereas Denman has to come back from a disappointing performance at Newbury. My money is on Kauto Star. I think the only way Denman could beat him is if the ground were testing.
