History: The college was founded in 2003 by Professor Syed Zaidi, an IT consultant.

Address: The suburbs of West London, in Wembley.

Ambience: Offering the best of both worlds with great transport links into the centre of London, contrasting with the close proximity to green belt sites further out of town. LSST offers a small friendly environment housed in a light and airy, modern site.

Vital statistics: Offers courses from A-levels and entry-level to postgraduate diplomas. The only undergraduate degree is the BSc (Hons) in business administration, with the school's strength lying in its wide variety of HNCs and HNDs in business and computing.

Added value: Strategic alliances with major institutes in Pakistan, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Turkey, Ghana and Cameroon. Ties with Buckinghamshire New University mean students can go on to study an MBA there once their programme is complete.

Easy to get into? A-levels or equivalents are accepted for the BSc and diplomas, whereas you’ll need a bachelor’s degree to get onto most of the postgraduate courses. There is a compulsary English language test for all applicants.

Transport links: The school is well connected to London Underground and local bus routes. Nearest tube stops are Alperton on the Piccadilly Line or Hangar Lane on the Central Line.

Who's the boss? Professor Chris Hudson is the principal and Professor Zaidi is director of education.

Teaching: Accredited by the British Accreditation Council (BAC), the Institute of Administrative Management (IAM), the Institute for the Management of Information Systems (IMIS), the Confederation of Tourism & Hospitality (CTH) and the Institute of Commercial Management (ICM).

Nightlife: Local amenities include Wembley Stadium complex, cinema complex, restaurants and many local bars. London, with all that it has to offer, is only a tube ride away.

Any accommodation? None offered by the school, but it does help international students find somewhere to stay locally.

Cheap to live there? Relatively. It'll cost you anywhere between £80 an £120 per week for a room in a shared flat.

Fees: Vary by course between £3,500 and £4,500 per year for 2011 entry. The college plans on raising these to around £6,500 as of 2012.

Bursaries: Up to £500 per year is available to students from low income families.
