David Nugent struck late to keep Leicester top of the Championship with QPR and Burnley in hot pursuit
David Moyes, the Manchester United manager, has said “a lot” of his players are giving their best but admitted that might not be enough as the club today seek to avoid losing four consecutive games in a season for the first time in 53 years.
The players will be thinking of the glory, but for the men trying to keep Grimsby Town, Kidderminster Harriers and Macclesfield Town afloat, it is the riches on offer in the FA Cup third round that makes it worth diverting the Conference trio’s attention from the quest to regain Football League status.
