Letter: Cereal comedy
Sir: The Fellows of Rewley House, Oxford, may be a little precipitate in changing the name of their institution to 'Kellogg College' (Letters, 4 July).
The name of cereal magnate, W. K. Kellogg and his quirky brother, Dr J. H. Kellogg, may shortly be on everyone's lips with the release of Alan Parker's comic film, The Road to Wellville, based on T. Coraghessan Boyle's novel and starring Anthony Hopkins as the good doctor. The film has already created a stir in Battle Creek, Michigan, (the Kellogg company's birthplace, in the year of its 70th corporate anniversary) with the eccentric antics of the two brothers.
Perhaps there is still time for the dons to rethink their proposed name-change if future generations of Oxford undergaduates are not to be seen chuckling and choking over their cornflakes at breakfast in Hall.
Yours faithfully,
C. W. BLUBBERHOUSE
