One of this year’s nominees at the WAF awards was the charity Article 25 for their Nkoranza Children's Home project, which Article 25 designed and built in Ghana. On a budget of just £20,000 and with only 4 months to complete the building, Article 25 designed and managed the construction of a beautiful building which is now home to 30+ children and 4 carers who would have been homeless. Combining functional professional design with local materials and labour, Article 25 has provided a safe home where children are free to play and thrive.

It is encouraging to see that projects like these, which recognise the importance of humanitarian, sustainable built environment projects in alleviating poverty and suffering around the world, are being recognised by the WAF. To find out more and support this life-changing work go to www.article-25.org.
