BOOK REVIEW / Bookshop Window: Bully - David Hughes: Walker Books, pounds 8.99.
An oddly horrible book, in which a girl and a teddy, a boy and crocodile, a penguin and a pig, try to play together and end up bullying and being bullied in turn. All of them smile 'a revolting smile' whenever they're not being bullied, and there's something nightmarishly thuggish, priggish or vicious about all the characters, which is hardly brushed away by the last page, which smarms 'Look] Everyone is playing again. Isn't it a lovely day?'
