Jonathan Franzen's Freedom rises above the Stieg Larsson Millennium trilogy as the best-selling book in Amazon's Kindle Store for the week ending September 19. Other top contenders are Nicolas Sparks for his new title Safe Haven and Suzanne Collins for Mockingjay.

Franzen's Freedom, released August 31 in the US and due out September 23 in the UK, is his much-anticipated follow-up to 2001's The Corrections. The book earned considerable press and mostly glowing reviews and has been topping best-seller lists throughout the US.

American author Nicolas Sparks just penned his 16th novel, Safe Haven, which was published on September 14 and ranks number five in this week's Kindle best-seller list. The novel, about a woman emotionally involved with two men in her small town in North Carolina, is currently being adapted into a movie. His previous novel, The Last Song, was adapted into a 2010 film starring Miley Cyrus and Greg Kinnear.
