IN WHICH picture by which artist can you find this twirl?

DETAILS 246 came from Arnold Bocklin's The Island of the Dead (Die Toteninsel). The celebrated image exists in several slightly different versions. This one, from 1880, is in the Kunstmuseum, Basle.

The first three correct entries drawn were from: Elizabeth Curtis, of Hyde Park, Leeds; Mrs H Schlich, of Uppingham, Leicester; and Sean Daw- son, of Leytonstone, London.

Each will receive a bottle of champagne, as will this week's winners. Answers, on a postcard, to: DETAILS 248, the IoS, 1 Canada Square, Canary Wharf, London, E14 5DL.
