Dr Jerry Hooker, curator of fossil vertebrates at the Natural History Museum, on The Velvet Claw (BBC1 Mon): 'They've chosen a group, the carnivores, which is quite exciting anyway. The programme is extremely good, giving an excellent view of the diversity of the carnivores and the evolutionary story is well explained. With the 3-D graphics they were able to put over things that are normally extremely difficult - people can't easily envisage how a land mammal could become a whale.'
