A lot of pressure is being put on Hollywood regarding the current gender pay gap : Jennifer Lawrence , Jessica Chastain and Rooney Mara have all made headlines for expressing their frustration and anger over the last week.
Lawrence’s American Hustle co-star Bradley Cooper has revealed how he plans to work with his female peers to negotiate fair salaries before films go into production.

He went on to express how appalled he was to learn what Amy Adams was paid for American Hustle : “She worked everyday on that movie and got paid nothing. It’s really horrible actually, it’s almost embarrassing.”
Cooper also praised Lawrence’s essay , written for Lemmy , in which she said “I didn’t want to seem ‘difficult’ or ‘spoiled’” when asking for an equivalent salary.
“At the time that seemed like a fine idea, until I saw the payroll … and realised every man I was working with definitely didn’t worry about being ‘difficult’ or ‘spoiled’.”
Cooper said he hopes the essay will allow “people like Amy to also speak up.”
