Fast and Furious 8 star Vin Diesel finally comments on Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson feud
He poured water on suggestions that he fell out with his co-star on set
Vin Diesel has poured water on his reported feud with Fast & Furious 8 co-star Dwayne Johnson.
The rumours began last summer during the high-octane sequel's production when Johnson lashed out at unnamed male co-stars branding some of them “candy asses,” with TMZ later reporting that franchise stalwart Diesel was the target of his words.
Universal later insisted the two had buried the hatchet, however, it was claimed that the feud was re-ignited during the film's press tour - so much so that they were being kept apart.
Entertainment Weekly reports that Diesel has confirmed this is simply not true.
“In my house, he’s Uncle Dwayne,” the star of the long-running franchise stated.
“I protect the franchise. I protect everybody, including Dwayne. I protected Dwayne more than he’ll ever know. And it doesn’t matter. He doesn’t have to know.”
Quite what Johnson needs protecting from - especially considering he's currently Hollywood's most bankable star - remains unclear but extra security in the form of xXx himself can't hurt.
Fast & Furious 8 is released in the UK on 12 April - read our interview with one of the film's many stars, Scott Eastwood, here.
