Forbes’ 10 highest-paid actresses of 2018 have been revealed

Their combined earnings are 9% down on the 2016 list

Forbes has released its annual list charting the highest-paid actresses in the world.

This year sees Scarlett Johansson top the list thanks to her role in Avengers: Infinity War which helped her earn $40.5m (£31.9m) over the past year.

The annual estimates place Angelina Jolie in second ahead of her role in Disney sequel Maleficent 2 with Jennifer Aniston in third.

Former champion Jennifer Lawrence is in fourth place with Reese Witherspoon, Cate Blanchett and Melissa McCarthy following up behind.

The only new addition is Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot who earns £10m (£7.8m).

Last year’s highest-paid actress, Emma Stone, has dropped out of the top 10.

Despite the spotlight being placed on Hollywood

’s gender pay gap over the past year, the combined earnings of all women in the top 10 is just 8% up on last year’s total and 9% down on the previous year.

Forbes is expected to release its annual list compiling the highest-paid male stars which was topped by Mark Wahlberg in 2017.
