Whatever reservations or disappointments fans may have had about Batman v Superman, Warner Bros. isn't prepared to give up the fight anytime soon.

The studio returned in full force to Comic-Con's iconic Hall H, laying on the hard sell for its upcoming DC roster and converting a fair few doubters in the process. First up, the trailer for Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman promised new visual and tonal directions for its central heroes; allowing the Amazonian princess to inhabitant her own vibrant, exciting world.

Next up, the trickier matter of priming Zack Snyder's own Justice League, with many concerned the director would once more deliver grim and portentous; the elements that ended up making Batman v Superman such a cinematic drag. It's far too early days to discern exactly what Snyder's done with DC's own take on an Avengers-style team-up film, but a first release of footage showed something very promising.

This Justice League looks... fun. Ben Affleck's Batman is actually cracking a smile. Ezra Miller's Flash is laying out jokes left, right, and centre. It's a hopeful sign for those wishing Warner Bros. would take Batman v Superman's criticisms head-on, with the interactions between Batman and Wonder Woman also suggesting a better infusion of character-building in this next installment.

Here's the synopsis:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League hits cinemas 17 November 2017.
