Morgan Freeman stars in coronavirus vaccine PSA

Morgan Freeman has starred in a public service announcement video urging people to get the coronavirus vaccine.

The 83-year-old actor teamed up with The Creative Coalition and the National Blue Ribbon Task Force in a video intended to help “stem vaccine hesitancy”.

“I’m Morgan Freeman,” the actor says while sitting at home against a backdrop of bookshelves. "I’m not a doctor, but I trust science. And I’m told that, for some reason, people trust me.”

He continues: “So here I am to say I trust science and I got the vaccine. If you trust me, you’ll get the vaccine. In math, it’s called the distributive property. In people, it’s called taking care of one another.

“Get the vaccine. Help make our world a safe place for us to enjoy ourselves again. Please.”

Freeman is the latest in a long line of celebrities to share their experiences of being vaccinated against Covid-19.

Last week, actors Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively received their vaccine, with the Deadpool star trolling conspiracy theorists as he joked that he’d “finally got 5G”.

More than 100 million Americans have already received their first dose of the vaccine.
