‘White Lightnin' wins at 11th Mumbai Film Festival
Dominic Murphy's "White Lightnin" won the Best Film in the International competition at the Mumbai Film festival in India. Other winners include Edward Hogg who won Best Actor for the same movie and Paprika Steen who won Best Actress for her role in "Applause."
Indian actor Amitabh Bachchan grabbed the lifetime achievement award while the international lifetime award was presented to Theo Angelopoulos.

Disney's ‘A Christmas Carol' first extensive 3D release
The Disney adaptation of Charles Dicken's novel ‘A Christmas Carol' will experience the widest worldwide release for a 3D movie this weekend. After a premiere in London with the film cast, the film goes on to release in Spain on November 13, in Japan on November 14 and in France on Christmas day.

Sony cancels This is It pre-Christmas DVD release

Sony Pictures has cancelled the DVD release of Michael Jackson's This is It scheduled for a pre-Christmas launch, owing to theater owners and executives at Sony pointing out that this would keep fans away from the cinemas. The launch has now been moved to the new year and the film has an extended four-week run in theaters.

The movie of footage of Jackson during rehearsals for his last concert has gathered more than a $100 million worldwide, reported movie entertainment website Hollywood.com.
