45 films you never realised were banned All Quiet on the Western Front (1930) The ban on All Quiet on the Western Front (1930) was ordered in Germany by Adolf Hitler himself who disliked its anti-war message. This came after an initial run during which members of the Nazi Party disrupted screenings by releasing mice into the cinema and, at one stage, attacking Jewish audience members. Censors in Austria, Australia, Italy and France also banned the film in the early 1930s.

The same scene saw the film banned in Sweden until 2005.

The duo's 2004 film Team America: World Police would later be banned by North Korea for its comedic depiction of Kim Jong-Il.

The new film received a seven-minute standing ovation following its premiere at the Cannes film Festival earlier this week. Lead stars Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie were all present as was he director himself whose second film, Pulp Fiction , won the coveted Palme d'Or 25 years earlier.
Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood will be released in the UK on 14 August.
