Tom Holland has revealed he’s filming Spider-Man 3 in a “weird” location that has brought things “full circle” for him.

The actor has played Peter Parker since 2016, when he made his debut in Captain America: Civil War, and is set to return in the web-slinger’s third standalone film later this year.

While production is still set to last for some time, work on the film has been underway in Atlanta, Georgia since last summer, with Holland returning to one place that made him nostalgic about his Marvel Cinematic Universe journey so far.

Speaking on a charity Instagram Live, hosted by his Marvel and Onward co-star Chris Pratt , Holland said:  “We started shooting Spider-Man 3 a few months ago, which had been crazy and really weird because we’re shooting it back in Atlanta. That’s where I did my audition for Spider-Man."

He continued: "We’re actually shooting [Spider-Man 3] in the stage where I did my audition, and it’s like a really weird full-circle story of walking through the same door I walked through as an 18-year-old kid, like, nervous, like, ‘Oh my god, I hope I get this job!’

"And then walking through the door at 24, making the third movie, loving life, confident, enjoying everything that’s happening for me. So, it’s been amazing, dude, it’s been awesome.”

Spider-Man 3 is scheduled to be the fourth and final Marvel film release in 2021. Others include the delayed Black Widow, Eternals and Shang-Chi.

In 2020, Holland shared an image showing his character wearing a facemask

Referencing Spidey's suit that he’s also wearing in the picture, Holland said: "Wear a mask, I’m wearing two..."

Marvel’s first Disney+ TV series, WandaVision, will begin on 16 January.
