Despite featuring heavily in the trailers, Jared Leto’s Joker was merely a side character in Suicide Squad, appearing only briefly to further Harley Quinn’s story.

For many fans, this was something of a disappointment considering Joker and Quinn’s relationship was one of the film’s highlights.

Now the film is nearing DVD release, one YouTube channel - The Nerdy Hero - has released the inevitable mash-up many fans never knew they wanted: Suicide Squad versus Fifty Shades of Grey.

Leto previously said there was enough deleted footage of his character to release a solo film, hinting the pair’s relationship was somewhat different in the film’s original cut; It is widely believed the scene where the Joker pushes Quinn out of a helicopter was originally written so he pushes her out of anger, not to save her life, changing the duo's dynamic somewhat.

Considering Margot Robbie has been confirmed to be working on a solo Harley Quinn film, hopefully the pair’s relationship will be developed further in the future.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros. bosses recently admitted they could do a “little better” with their DC films, something that shouldn’t be too difficult considering Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad’s negative reviews.
