Terminator 2 3D Featurette

Terminator 2: Judgement Day is about to return to UK screens in a big way.

To celebrate, a new featurette has been released that sees co-writer William Wisher and star Arnold Schwarzenegger reflect on some of the franchise's most iconic lines, specifically "Hasta La Vista, baby" and "I'll be back".

Wisher reveals that "Hasta La Vista, baby" was just something that he and director James Cameron "used to say to each other when we were talking on the telephone, as we were hanging up... neither one of us ever had any idea that that line would become an iconic piece of dialogue."

Schwarzenegger, meanwhile, discusses his own struggles with the film's dialogue. "I say every goddamn line wrong, because of my accent," he admits. "I had difficulties with 'I'll be back'." He adds that he wanted to change the line to the stronger "I will be back", but was told to stick to the script.

Terminator 2 originally hit UK screens back in 1991, with a brand new 3D version offering a 21st century-style look back at one of the most seminal blockbusters of all time.

The film takes place 10 years since the events of The Terminator. Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) must fight to protect her son John (Edward Furlong), the future leader of the human resistance against machines, from a new Terminator (Robert Patrick), sent back in time to kill John while he's still a child. The human resistance, however, have their own ally.

Terminator 2: Judgement Day 3D will have special one-off screenings across the UK on 29 August. You can purchase tickets here.
