Luc Besson's return to the sci-fi genre has many fans very excited, his ambitious adaptation of French series Valérian and Laureline - titled Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets - looking better following every teaser.

The second trailer for the Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets has finally landed, offering a closer look at the Cara Delevingne and Dane DeHaan’s characters.

The Beatles’ “Because” makes another appearance, having soundtracked the first trailer, while the CGI continues to look entirely stunning.

The official synopses reads: A dark force threatens Alpha, a vast metropolis and home to species from a thousand planets. Special operatives Valerian and Laureline must race to identify the marauding menace and safeguard not just Alpha, but the future of the universe.

The film's intriguing cast also includes Rihanna, Clive Owen, Ethan Hawke, John Goodman, Blade Runner icon Rutger Hauer and, perhaps most surprisingly, jazz legend Herbie Hancock.

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets will hit cinemas in July 2017.
