It seems Patty Jenkins knows exactly who she wants for the villainess role in Wonder Woman 2.

Reports have seemed to confirm Gal Gadot will face Cheetah, the alter ego of British anthropologist Barbara Ann Minerva, in the sequel set to begin filming this summer.

While it remains uncertain who will play the role, Deadline states that producers are eyeing Kristen Wiig who is primarily known for her comedy roles despite a handful of appearances in drama films.

Earlier reports suggested that the role was originally turned down by La La Land Oscar-winner, Emma Stone.

Still, one detail that's been confirmed is the film's production start date with producer Charles Roven telling ComicBook.com that filming begins this summer.

“We're in what I would call development of the screenplay,” Roven stated. “We finally, I think, have a good story to tell. We're hoping to start shooting the movie sometime this summer, and hope to have it out by the end of '19.”

The film, reportedly being shot by filmmaker Patty Jenkins under the working title Magic Hour, is said to bring Gal Gadot's protagonist to the 80s for the Cold War. She was last seen in 2017 DC superhero mashup Justice League.

Wonder Woman 2 was recently confirmed to become the first film to adopt the Producer's Guild of America's (PGA) new anti-sexual harassment guidelines in the wake of the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements.

The film is being lined up for a November 2019 release.
