No longer competing with Star Wars IX

With Justice League nearly out, fans are growing exceedingly excited for the return of one superhero in particular: Wonder Woman.

Of course, the Avengers-style team-up blockbuster won’t be the only opportunity DC fans have to see the Amazon warrior on the big screen.

Following the success of Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman, a sequel was quickly announced, reuniting Gal Gadot with the director.

Warner Bros. has since revealed that Wonder Woman 2 will reach cinemas a month earlier than expected, being released 1 November 2019 rather than December that year.

The film was originally scheduled for 13 December that year — a date that was announced before Star Wars: Episode IX was delayed until the 20 December.

While unconfirmed, chances are the shifting release of Disney’s monumentally popular science-fiction flick likely had an effect on the Wonder Woman release.

Meanwhile, Gadot apparently said she would not return to Wonder Woman if Brett Ratner — who has been accused of sexual harassment — also comes back as producer.

Deadline has reported the story as false, saying there have been no discussions between the studio and Gadot about Ratner’s involvement.

They also point out how Ratner was not listed as a producer on the original movie. His company RatPac Dune was involved, but their contract with Warner Bros. ends next April.
