A resident poisons her neighbour's dog, another flings herself off a balcony, a visitor's car is broken into. It's clear that this middle-class neighbourhood in Refice, Brazil is unravelling.

So three security meatheads offer their protection services to the residents. Nothing truly shocking occurs, but there's a low hum of menace and an expectation of violence. An inscrutable drama, with echoes of Michael Haneke and, in its social comments, John Sayles.
