The second drama to be written and directed by Andrea Arnold (Red Road) confirms her as one of Britain's most exciting film-makers.

Its heroine is a 15-year-old drop-out, Katie Jarvis, who mooches around an Essex council estate. You might cross the street to avoid her, but beneath her armour of aggression is a vulnerable, lonely girl with dreams of a better life – dreams that may or may not be realised by her mother's enigmatic new Irish boyfriend, Michael Fassbender.
