Marvel Studios are revving up for superhero team-up movie The Avengers, and Iron Man 2 doesn't do much except mark time until that comes along in 2012.
Samuel L Jackson and Scarlett Johansson show up for no reason except that their characters are due to feature in The Avengers, and the rest of the film is a directionless soap opera about Iron Man's billionaire alter ego, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jnr). It's snazzy fun at times, though.
