A decent British cast are wasted in this objectionable British gangster saga, which falls desperately short of the films it tries to ape – Get Carter, Carlito's Way etc.
It's like a more brutal, less droll episode of Minder. Colin Farrell plays Mitchell, a sullen hardman fresh out of the nick and trying (not that hard) to keep his nose clean. However, Ben Chaplin's swivel-eyed felon and his barmy boss (Ray Winstone) don't want him to. Just about as puerile and pointless as British cinema gets.
