DVD: Meet The Parents: Little Fockers (12)
Friday 15 April 2011
Meet the Parents had zip and some decent visual gags; Meet the Fockers wasn't as funny, but always watchable; this third slice of in-law bickering is obnoxiously dull.
Like the majority of modern US comedies there are no actual, discernible jokes, and a classy cast – Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman, Ben Stiller, Laura Dern – barely seem engaged with the dialogue, thrown together by a staggering four writers. This time around De Niro's uptight father figure, Jack, suspects his son-in-law, Gaylord Focker (Stiller), is cheating on his gormless daughter, Pam (Terri Polo), with Jessica Alba's sultry temptress. Who gives a fock?
