Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist (12A)

This small teen romance has the snap and crackle of early Doug Liman movies (Swingers, Go) and a charm all its own.

Set over a single night, it's about a meeting of souls that was meant to be: Norah (Kat Dennings) is the gawky daughter of a top music impresario, while Nick (Michael Cera) is the geeky bassist of a high school band who's heartbroken after being dumped by his cheating girlfriend. But the mixed-tape CDs he made for his ex, complete with exquisite artwork, touch a chord with Norah, who believes he might be her "musical twin". There's a lot of chasing around nocturnal New York in search of her best friend, some fun with his broken-down car (a possession that always signals "personal integrity") and a few coincidences that feel way too cute. But you'd forgive it much else just for the playing of sweet-faced Cera and dark-eyed stunner Dennings.
