Three words that will decide your attitude to this one way or another: Nazi Science Ghosts. In a war-zone somewhere in eastern Europe, a band of mercenaries is hired to escort a "property surveyor" – little realising that he's taking them to an abandoned bunker, where once the SS strove to create a race of zombie supersoldiers; after which the thing pretty much writes itself.

Gruesomeness ensues, naturally, enlivened by some solid performances (Julian Wadham as a sarcastic scientist, Ray Stevenson as a tough mercenary leader) and one or two moments of black humour – though nothing as funny as the assertion in the press notes that the action is "character-driven".
