Landesman's drama, set in Dallas on the day that JFK was shot, is very slickly shot and boasts an affecting performance from Paul Giamatti as Abraham Zapruder, the mild-mannered American everyman who filmed the assassination on his 8mm camera.
But the storytelling style is distractingly frenetic. There is so much going on so fast that it is very hard to find any point of emotional engagement.
Peter Landesman, 93 mins Starring: James Badge Dale, Zac Efron, Marcia Gay Harden, Ron Livingston, Billy Bob Thornton
