In this shamefully enjoyable, extravagantly gory sequel to last year's horror remake, a National Guard platoon is picked off by mutant cannibals who lurk in a New Mexico desert. No prizes for guessing what was on the minds of Wes Craven and his son when they wrote a screenplay about inexperienced, under-equipped soldiers being outflanked by cave-dwelling enemies of the US military's own making.
