In a departure from his usual guarded release of details about upcoming film details, Woody Allen disclosed the title, storyline and cast for his next film, Midnight in Paris, a romantic comedy which begins shooting this summer, in, not surprisingly, Paris.
Newly on board the film is Michael Sheen ( Twilight: New Moon, Frost/Nixon), Kathy Bates ( The Blind Side), and in a cameo role, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, France's First Lady. They join Owen Wilson ( Night at the Museum), Marion Cotillard ( La Vie En Rose, Public Enemies), Rachel McAdams ( Sherlock Holmes), and more. The tale focuses on a family traveling to France for business purposes, including a young engaged couple who have their lives transformed during the journey as they are faced with the illusion that a different life would be better than their own.
Allen's next film, You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, scheduled to be screened at the Cannes Film Festival next month and open in September, stars Anthony Hopkins, Antonio Banderas, Naomi Watts ( King Kong, 21 Grams), Josh Brolin ( W, Milk), and Freida Pinto ( Slumdog Millionaire).
