An entire film directed by Christopher Nolan will be streamed for free on the hit battle royale game Fortnite this summer.

The news was announced during a live in-game premiere of a trailer for Nolan’s upcoming sci-fi thriller Tenet.

Geoff Knightley, host of The Games Awards, wrote on Twitter: “ Christopher Nolan is bringing one of his iconic films to @FortniteGame this summer for a full length free screening for fans!”

The screening will take place in the game’s non-violent “Party Royale” mode, as Fortnite continues to diversify beyond its multiplayer shoot-em-up roots.

Fortnite has held a number of non-competitive in-game “events” recently, including a music performance from Travis Scott, and a teaser for Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker.

It is not yet clear which Nolan film will be screened for free, but the use of the word “iconic” suggests that it could be Nolan’s Batman sequel The Dark Knight.

People have also suggested that the film could be Inception, Interstellar or Dunkirk.

No date has been confirmed so far for the Christopher Nolan screening.

Tenet is scheduled to be released in cinemas on 17 July, but could be delayed if not enough cinemas re-open in time.
