Letter: Courtesy is catching
Sir: Perhaps bus travellers are kinder than those on trains. Or maybe passengers on buses up Essex Road, Islington, are unusually considerate.
Being obviously elderly, I am frequently offered a seat on a crowded bus by people of all ages and both sexes. Courtesy, of course, works two ways: I always smile and thank those unselfish people for their kindness.
