Letter: Extremely clean dad
Sir: I object to the characterisation of local spectators at the cricket matches in Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, New York, as "the few passing unwashed" ("The far pavilions", 2 June).
My father, a resident of Van Cortland Park South, is a very dapper and extremely washed gentleman of advancing years. He spends occasional Sunday mornings trying to fathom the rules of this peculiar British sport.
