Letter: Girls in the choir
Sir: There is one point about the admission of girls to cathedral choirs that I have not seen mentioned in the debate so far.
It is right that girls as well as boys should be given the opportunity to contribute to leading worship through music. To help to provide the music for a service (whether it be in a cathedral or at parish level) is a glorious experience and a privilege, and quite unlike music-making for entertainment. It has a spiritual dimension that makes it special.
