Letter: Goodbye Scotland
Sir: Andrew Thornbury (letter, 9 December) makes the assumption that if Scotland separates from the United Kingdom then my country would cease to exist. However, I think it would then consist of England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The loss of five or six million Scotch people would no doubt diminish the UK, but I'm sure we would remain part of the EU. Scotland, having left, would have to reapply.
