Sir: The sick and vulnerable lying on trolleys; beggars on our streets; families desperately worried about their jobs and mortgages; the generation who saved this country from fascism expected to live on pounds 75 a week and our Prime Minister appears on the Richard and Judy show. What have we done in a past life to deserve this?
