Sir: Christopher Walker (letter, 6 April) asks why, if religion is a good thing, it is bad in its extreme forms, like fundamentalism.
This is an odd sort of logic. The same reasoning would indicate that democracy is a bad thing, given the obvious folly of mass hysteria and the dangers of mob rule.
