Sir: I'm with Professor Trewavas (letters, 4 August). Under a truly sustainable food production system - extensive, organic, low-impact - the world may be capable of feeding a few hundred million people. But who will decide who is to be fed and who is to be let go? And what about the vast loss of habitat, already the No 1 threat to biological diversity? What the world - natural and human - needs is more intensive agriculture concentrated in a smaller area.
