Sir : What is the practical relevance to the wider electorate of William Hague's attempt to close off the Conservative Party's discussion of EMU for nine years via a vote among 200,000 Conservative Party members? With the first phase of EMU less than three months away for the majority of Western Europe, perhaps the new relaxed party conference layout is set to reflect a new trend in armchair politics.
