Sir: While I applaud the use of milk floats to transport goods in the Orkney Islands , I must comment on the bit where Steve Howrie states that cow's milk was never intended for human consumption (letter, 10 June). Well, nothing is intrinsically "intended" to be consumed by us. We, however, seem to be able to consume just about anything that is going. We make the choice. So, cow's milk or soya milk, neither "intended" for human consumption but both suitable for consumption.
