Letter: Nothing like a Dome
Sir: Regarding your review of Greenwich Theatre's production of Dick Whittington ("The campaign for real panto", 22 December), I feel it's a bit harsh to criticise what is clearly designed to be a traditional panto for failing to make reference to the Dome or the current mayor race/fiasco. Indeed, as a local resident I found escaping from the Dome hooha one of the show's plus points.
To assist your reviewer in choosing further Christmas entertainment may I caution him that performances of Handel's Messiah may not have been updated to include references to Tony Blair and that the cinema reissue of the Alastair Sim film A Christmas Carol inexplicably fails to include a hip hop remix.
