Letter: Plot against PR?
Sir: I am amazed at your correspondents who claim to dislike voting under a list system of PR because they cannot vote for an individual. I should think it a safe bet that the majority of people in this country could not give you the name of their local MP, let alone know anything about them, but can probably just about remember what party they belong to.
How does one tell what an individual candidate really believes in from the scrappy information provided by the leaflets sent out before an election?
And yes, I admit it. I did rush out last Thursday to the polling booth because I was excited by the idea that my vote would at long last count for something and be recognised. The UK parliamentary constituency in which I live is a "safe seat". More PR please - and the sooner the better. It worked for me; it can work for you too!
