Letters: Animals' welfare
Animals' welfare
Sir: Animal welfare campaigners and cat-lovers especially must be greatly relieved at the closure of Hill Grove cat-breeding farm ("Cattery closure delights protesters", 14 August).
But the whole questionable business surrounding experiments on live animals will not be resolved until the Government fulfils its pre-election promise to set up a Royal Commission to review the effectiveness and justification of animal experiments, and to examine alternatives. Why the delay?
