Letters: Policing Ms Ross
Sir: Twice in the past week I have telephoned the police - first, to catch vandals hurling bottles into my drive and, second, to investigate a theft from my car. In both instances the police said they were too busy to attend the scene of the crime. Given the police's claims of overstretched resources I was somewhat surprised to see the photograph on your front page (23 September). In it I can see at least four police officers escorting the notoriously dangerous Diana Ross from her plane.
