WITHOUT A DOUBT the Beastie Boys (right) are a contradiction. Brash, loud and aggressive fighters for Tibetan freedom, they have managed to develop from being an early 1980s fad to respected veterans of the music scene. "Hello Nasty", the tour supporting their current album, continues where it left off last summer, blasting out at such tunes as the robotic "Intergalactic".

THE COMEDY TEAM who challenged the ethnic bounds of British humour with the hit TV series Goodness Gracious Me embark upon on a live national tour at the end of this month. Favourites like the Bombay louts remain part of the show, but are complemented by new creations which are reassuringly adept at poking fun at a multicultural society. Their humour won the team Best Comedy Series at the 1998 Comedy Awards and is set to continue enjoying its wealth of success.
